Composer Profile: Uğurcan Öztekin (Fellowship 2025/26)
Event
Uğurcan Öztekin is traveling from Istanbul to Bamberg, where his complete works were awarded the Villa Concordia Residency Fellowship by the Free State of Bavaria for 2025/26: villa-concordia.de/artist.
“... So far, I have written works for Barcelona, Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Paris, which have been performed by various ensembles in recent years. Writing the next work for Bamberg would be a meaningful addition to this cycle—a work that reflects my time and impressions here,” the composer wrote to us at the beginning of the year.
The program will feature new works for recorder and transverse flute, performed by Elena Gabbrielli (flute) and Caroline Mayrhofer (recorder). Introduction: Nora-Eugenie Gomringer.
A warm welcome to the Künstlerhaus!
