In collaboration with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (StMWK) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia is offering a two-month residency for a guest artist from Quebec this year. Comic book author and illustrator Ariane Cloutier was selected by the jury for the period from April 30 to June 30, 2026.
Her event will take place at 23rd June, 7. p.m. in Villa Concordia.
Ariane Cloutier describes herself as a Montreal-based comic book artist with a degree in graphic design (UQAM, 2018). “When she draws, she feels like a child in a sandbox. She plays with shapes and visual metaphors to tell unusual stories with humor and sensitivity. Diverse projects spark her curiosity. She explores a variety of media—from magazines to academic journals—and leads workshops in her community, including at libraries and festivals. […]. Villa Concordia will be her playground, where she will prepare her first graphic novel."
