The Bamberg Poetics Professorship is one of the most prestigious poetry lectureships in the German-speaking world and is held by an author each year. Authors who have been honoured with the Villa Concordia fellowship have also held this professorship, e.g. Silke Scheuermann and Jan Koneffke. Alina Bronsky is a poetry professor in 2025.
Following an inaugural lecture by Bronsky on 7 May at the ETA Hoffmann Theatre, three poetry lectures will take place at the university (8 May / 25 June / 24 July 2025 from 6 pm, University of Bamberg, lecture hall U2/00.25). This lecture series will be followed by a research colloquium on Alina Bronsky's work at the Künstlerhaus from Wednesday to Friday, 23-25 July 2025.
Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 13:00-16:45: Welcome by Prof. Dr. Andrea Bartl and Alicia Fuchs as well as Nora-Eugenie Gomringer. Followed by lectures and discussion on the topic of gender: On the (self-)empowerment of women.
