In mathematics, 0⁰ (zero to the power of zero) is undefined. Philosophically, it represents a moment between existence and non-existence; the edge where nothing becomes something, and everything begins from emptiness.
This exhibition by the Turkish artist and current Villa Concordia fellowship holder, Ardan Özmenoğlu uses painted dots as symbols of beginnings, possibilities, and infinite potential. A single dot can mean silence or creation, nothing or everything. By exploring the paradox of 0⁰, the artworks reflect on the space where all things are possible but nothing is yet formed. It’s a visual meditation on how something infinite can emerge from “nothing”. How a single point can hold an entire universe and hold within it an infinite moment.
