Florian Hüttner was awarded the Villa Concordia fellowship in 2012/13 and a lot of time has passed since then: villa-concordia.de/biography. He will be showing his long-term project ‘Freie Flusszone Bilderkisten’ in the exhibition space of the Künstlerhaus.
Free River Zone Picture Boxes are artistic questions and assertions to and about rivers. They are made for rivers of the world and placed on them. In particular, the exhibition will focus on the ‘Free River Zone Picture Box, Mississippi’, which Florian Hüttner took to New Orleans in January 2025. There, the box was handed over to the project's largest river to date, the Mississippi.
Both the Künstlerhaus itself and its sponsoring association ‘Freunde des Internationalen Künstlerhauses Villa Concordia e.V.’ have supported this project, thus also enabling the former and current fellowship holders to meet.
The exhibition is open daily until 1 March 2026. Admission is free. Opening: 26.01.2026 (Mon) from 19:00 in the Künstlerhaus. A warm welcome!
