An evening with the Irish translator RACHEL McNICHOLL and the Irish singer Deirbhile Ní Bhrolcháin. Rachel McNicholl will introduce the author Maria Leitner and her novel "Hotel Amerika’", which was published in the 1930s. "Hotel Amerika" is an almost forgotten modern classic by the author, who was Jewish and a communist. She was one of the first whose books were burnt in Nazi Germany. She died in 1942 while trying to escape from Vichy France. Rachel McNicholl and others will explain on this evening why the text should definitely be translated into English. The singer Deirbhile Ní Bhrolcháin will perform Irish folk songs.
Admission free. Event will be in German and English.
