Bamberg will have the pleasure of hosting Sinem Altan for five months, as the composer has been awarded the Villa Concordia Fellowship by the Free State of Bavaria, where she works until mid-September. Welcome to her presentation on Wednesday, August 13: She will introduce her career, her sounds can be heard live and instruments and instrumentalists can be seen.
Her works are often rhythmic and harmonious, as could be experienced from April to June at Theater Heilbronn in the play Istanbul, for which she was the musical director. She rearranged songs by Turkish pop music star Sezen Aksu and performed them herself on the piano. She is also the musical director for the atze Musiktheater in Berlin, where she can currently be seen in the live musical radio play based on Franz Kafka's Die Verwandlung.
Director Nora-Eugenie Gomringer will welcome you to the 50-minute program at the Künstlerhaus, where Begüm Tüzemen, Özgür Ersoy and Sinem Altan will perform vocals, piano, duduk, lavta/lute and baglama/long-necked lute: villa-concordia.de / biography
Afterwards, you can enjoy a chat over wine or water. Admission is free, but our baroque house is not barrier-free. We look forward to welcoming you!
