Jiří Kadeřábek, born 1978 in Zlín / Czechia, has garnered numerous awards and international acclaim. His compositions are regularly commissioned and performed by orchestras, ensembles and theaters across Europe, America, and Asia. Kadeřábek's opera "No Man" ran for three seasons at the National Theatre in Prague under the composer's baton; the production was also presented at Theater Bremen and captured on film. Kadeřábek holds a Ph.D. from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. His academic career includes a year as an Erasmus student at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and a year as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University in New York. In addition to composing, he is an active singer and pianist, most notably performing with the Prague-based band "Kino Jana Nerudy".

Jiří Kadeřábek was awarded the residency fellowship at the Künstlerhaus Bamberg by Bavarian State Minister Markus Blume at the suggestion of Villa Concordia Music Fellowship Board members Marcus Rudolf Axt, Director of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Imke List, Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and Prof. Rainer Kotzian, President of the Nuremberg University of Music. He will compose there for 11 month from mid-April through mid-March 2027.
