Christine Koschmieder, born in 1972, is an author, translator, and literary educator. In 1989–1990, she spent time in Iowa, USA; beginning in 1993, she studied theater studies, media and communication studies, and worked in the independent theater scene in Leipzig. In 2003, she founded the literary agency Partner + Propaganda. She has worked as a fundraiser, in associations (Association of Independent Editors, Saxon Literary Council), as a board member and moderator of UV – The Reading of Independent Publishers, and was a fellow of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony in 2014, 2018, and 2023. She also held residency fellowships in Thessaloniki, Zagreb, and Vilnius. Her debut novel, Schweinesystem, was nominated for the aspekte Literature Prize. In 2024, she participated in the Days of German-Language Literature in Klagenfurt. In 2023, she moved to a small town in Saxony-Anhalt.
The author was awarded the residency fellowship at the Künstlerhaus Bamberg by Bavarian Minister of State Markus Blume, at the suggestion of the Villa Concordia literary fellowship board members Tanja Graf, Director of the Literaturhaus München, and Dr. Katharina von Ruckteschell-Katte, Goethe Institut e.V. He will work there for five months from mid-April to mid-March 2027.
